Metal die marks

Metal die marks

Postby nlhammill » February 27th, 2013, 11:23 am

Hi Sue! When I use copper colored metal dies (all the time) there is a copper color left on the edges of my die cuts. Do you have any ideas on how to solve this? Thanks so much, Nancy

I would use a layer of waxed paper or parchment paper in between the die and the paper. That may help some.

Also try cleaning the die with vinegar. Since copper oxidizes, cleaning may remove some of the metal residue.

Thanks Sue! I already use waxed paper, but I'll try the vinegar. Can't hurt :D
I never see the metal marks on any of your cutouts though. Have you ever had this happen? It happens with all of my copper colored dies (Spellbinders). Anybody else have this problem? Thanks again Sue! You are always on top of everything, and answer so quickly, Nancy

I have never had this happen but their newest dies are a mixed metal I think, or have some sort of coating on them.

Call Spellbinders and ask. They should stand behind their products. They cost enough!
