Hi, Sue,

Can you give me an idea of the Copic colors you used to color the bear with?

Thanks.

Hi Vicki,
E21 for the bear
The more you add the darker it gets, so go light for the first layer and then add more for the shading.
RV13 is the pink.

Thanks, Sue.

I'll try what you said. I have several bear stamps but I don't use them for I can't get the bears to come out right.

If you have trouble with the shading, use a circle motion with the pen. And you can always use a darker shade, like E53 or E33, and the small open circles can create shading without being perfect. Hold the pen straight up so the circles are smaller instead of tilting the pen down, which creates a broader line.

Copics can be tricky, as we all know!

Thanks for telling me how to shade in the bear and which Copic colors work for the bear.

Vicki,

I hate to say this too much, but practice really helps. I was not that good at Copics when I first started and after watching technique videos online and practicing, that will help you keep the ink where you want it and not everywhere else. Different brush strokes and techniques will apply the ink in different ways, allowing you to do what you want.

Suzanne Dean is excellent. HTH
