Xyron sticker

Xyron sticker

Postby siwale80 » October 28th, 2012, 10:53 pm

Hope someone can advise? Have a Xyron X sticker thing and when I run words through it or items with gaps and then stick them onto card the glue is in the gaps. It's like elastic! How does one remove this, find it very frustrating as it makes the item so sticky all over. Maybe I shouldn't rub item so hard before removing the cellophane? Not keen to use powder? Thanks. Celiax

I can help with that. Take a stylus or a ball burnisher and run that around each letter or shape to help break the glue strings before removing it from the paper backing. I usually use the bone folder thing that came with the Martha Stewart Score Board because that has a sharper edge than the rolling burnisher. If it tears the protective paper, so what? It will release the glue and keep the shape in tact.

Sue, most grateful for this advice.
Everything just feels so sticky, but your tip will be most welcome. Thanks a ton. Cx

I have a problem remembering which way to put the die into the Xyron so the sticky side is on the opposite side of the die,so it will stick. Is there an easy way to remember or am I just a little dense? Thanks.

The paper goes in the Xyron so that the sticky part is on the back and then you lay the die on the paper side so that when it is cut, your nice paper is on the top. The die has sticky on the back and it comes out clean once cut.

Does that help?

I know what I was doing wrong, now. I didn't peel the paper off the one side and I was putting the paper on the die. Thanks. I think I overthink things too much. Thanks again. Betty
