#2485 05/07/07 Card #2485 Picture Frame using 3 heavy coasters covered with SB paper and then sanded. Tied together with ribbon. I made the holes with the Crop-a-dile. The coasters come from www.americancoaster.com The letters are made using a lightweight coaster covered with SB paper and die cut with Cuttlebug Alphabets and the heart shape.
#2484 05/07/07 Card #2484 3 pc Kitchen Set made with coasters and SB paper. The item on the left is a calendar magnet. The middle piece is a box for recipes or notes or pencils, or all three! The item on the right is a coaster recipe card holder. The small clip at the top is from Making Memmories and the plastic charms are actually button charms with the shanks cut off the back.
#2483 05/07/07 Card #2483 Inside of the Box.
#2482 05/07/07 Card #2482 This is a view of the back of the recipe card holder. I also added a magnet to show that it can be used on the refrigerator and the counter with the easel back. I made the easel back using the light weight coasters so I could score and fold it.
#2480 05/04/07 Card #2480 This is a pencil box made with 4" white coasters. I saw the original idea on SCS and of course, had to do some. I used 5 coasters, covered with paper, using the Xyron, and punched the holes with the Crop-a-dile. Tie them together with ribbon to assemble. A coaster is glued in the bottom of the box to finish it off. The chipboard letters are from Cuttlebug-Hippie Chick alphabets. More views follow.
#2479 05/04/07 Card #2479 Inside view. I cut down another coaster to make dividers. I applied white craft glue to the sides and bottom to secure them in place. A happy accident occured when I punched too may coasters with too many holes, and instead of recovering another one with more paper for the bottom which has NO holes, I just used the punched one to make the dividers and tied ribbon in the holes, like on the sides. This takes a bit of figuring out to make it work, but once the first one was done, the rest will be easy. I have seen some with candy in them, and what is better than CANDY!
#2478 05/04/07 Card #2478 I got lazy and put some post it notes on one of the sides instead of trying to come up with another decoration. The very back is plain and the other side is in the next photo.
#2477 05/04/07 Card #2477 Those flowers are from Bazzill and I just glued buttons on the top to coordinate with the color scheme. One hint: The coasters come in 3 weights. The heavy ones are great for the boxes but are a bit too thick with SB paper glued to them to use to die cut letters, so the light weight ones are best for the die cutting. I think the medium weight will be fine in the Cuttlebug, too, but I did not want to break anything. FUN FUN FUN!
