These Kanban stamps are not made in the US and do not adhere the ink well with the first printing, so I use a pedicure sponge thingie and lightly sand the top surface of the stamp, making sure it is perfectly level, so the ink can adhere better. I also do this with Penny Black stamps and others not made in the U.S. After the sanding, the ink works well. If they look familiar, the artist also designs for Lili of the Valley
